These word mats provide examples of words that may be included in many first stage reading books. It is helpful if children have a list of words stuck in the front of their RRB. These lists should be glued into reading record folders and children should highlight the word ‘green’ when they can read it. These word lists can also be used during creative writing time. Download includes 5 lists and 5 additional ‘worksheets’. These can be used for homeworks/spelling books/literacy books.

Research skills are a vital component in all areas of the curriculum. This pack will allow students to independently research and understand the importance of using relevant and irrelevant information. They will need to decipher and be able to pinpoint things that are necessary and things that aren’t. There are several writing templates, cover pages and a report templates. (25 pages in total).
